This piece is part of the film music for the experimental movie Broken Birds. The movie is about obsession. It is also the first movie that I composed music for.
In this particular scene we see a man and a woman. The man is lying in bed, the woman is sitting next to him. She tries to touch him with her hand but every time she gets close to him she pulls her hand back and is devastated. The man is awake but motionless.
Her desperation and agony peak when suddenly dead birds hit the ground. The scene ends when she walks away between the dead birds.
In the music I have tried to play the closeness (or desired closeness) of the woman. Also her agony since she cannot get close to him. When the absurd with the falling birds happens I use Electronica as an unfamiliar element.
